Data centres are constantly changing environments. With today’s servers generating more heat output, keeping the data centre operating efficiently can be a challenge. We are able to support the optimisation of the physical infrastructure as changes happen. This can range from simply moving vented floor tiles in order to maximise cooling, through to the placement of cable penetration seals and blanks into cabinets. These small improvement help to maintain floor void pressurisation and the placement of blank panels in unmanaged openings of existing cabinets can minimise return air issues. We have a range of products from Koldlok that can assist to maximise cooling efficiency.
KoldLok Products
Koldlok offer a range of products to assist with improving the efficiency of cooling systems within the traditional raised floor data centre environment:
| Areas of Interest: | |
|---|---|

IntegralThe Integral raised-floor grommet is designed for new installations and fits into the raised-floor tiles prior to the installation of the cabinets |

Split IntegralThe Split Integral raised-floor grommet is ideal for new installations on the edge of floor tiles. This raised-floor grommet is in two halves and allows the cables to be removed. |

Surface MountedSurface Mounted KoldLok raised-floor grommets are ideal for existing installations, and because they are in two halves there is no need to disconnect any cables. |

Surface Mounted L & XL SeriesSurface Mounted L & XL raised-floor grommets are designed to fit existing larger openings and effectively seals openings up to 10″ x 13″ (250mm x 330mm) |

ExtendedThe Extended series is designed to fit and seal cut-outs against walls or, when two are used together, they can seal half a floor tile. |
In addition to cooling we can assist with the optimisation of electrical distribution system to ensure power quality is maintained and that system overloads do not occur. This can be either a simple review or measurement of actual installed loads through to the supply of a fully monitored and managed power distribution system consisting of cabinet PDU’s, Web interface and switchboard and UPS monitoring.
We are also able to provide a range of services to optimise interconnectivity cabling solutions for copper and fibre cable systems. This includes audits to identify and recover redundant patches and cables, improved labelling through to automated and managed cat 5 and 6 cable systems utilising control systems to ensure future proof cable management. We have systems available from KRONE/ADC to support this.
There is also an increased emphasis on the green data centre we have teamed with Eaton:Powerware to offer a range of services to optimise your carbon footprint.
